I recently came across this company that makes custom blankets and a lot of their business is in the fire service. If anyone is interested in a nice quality blanket for their bunk or for home, here are the details:

The blankets are made in New Jersey by a small company called Logo Knits. They are a very small company that specializes in custom blankets, and due to their small size, are not a union shop at this time. With Chief Burke’s permission, I reached out to them and asked for a sample which we received last week. I currently have the blanket over at Station 2 for everyone to see and will get it over to Station 1 by the end of the week.

The blankets are 63x90 (although the sample size is 63x63) and are $56 with a minimum order of 12. The price drops to $53 if we reach 24 blankets and $50 if we reach 48 blankets. I attached a photo of the blanket (63x63) laid out on a bunk over here at Station 2 to give you an idea on size. Just an FYI, the department issued red blankets measure 63x85.

I will place a sign-up sheet with the blanket and a final order date of Wednesday 13th February.
