Since 1881, 243 Minnesota firefighters have died in the line of duty. Since 2011, a memorial service has been held on the last Sunday in September to honor these men and women. This day has been designated as the state’s official day to honor Minnesota’s fallen firefighters. 

This year's Minnesota Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service will take place this Sunday 24th September.

Ceremony event details are as follows:

• Location - South grounds of State Capitol
  • W 12th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55155
• 10:45 – Posting of the Guard
• 11:45 – Reading of the Honor Roll
• 12:30 – Sea of Uniforms
• 12:40 – Processional begins
• 13:00 – Memorial Service begins

Although MSP Airport Fire will not have an official presence at this year's ceremony, all off-duty personnel are encouraged to attend as a show of support for our fellow brothers and sisters. As a special note, Saint Paul Fire Captain Christopher Parsons will be inducted.
